Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Clarsat site and the image enhancement service behind it. By creating an account or submitting imagery, you accept them.
1. Who we are
Clarsat provides optical image enhancement for Earth Observation imagery. Contact: contact@clarsat.com.
2. The service
Clarsat enhances EO optical imagery at the scale factors currently in service (2× and 3×). The free tier exists so you can evaluate the model on your own scenes; production use runs under a partnership agreement — hosted API, on-premise container, or licensed weights — and the terms of that agreement take precedence over these terms wherever they differ.
3. Accounts
Give accurate registration details, keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for everything done through it.
4. Your imagery stays yours
You keep all rights in the imagery you upload. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store and process it in order to produce and deliver your results, and to keep the service running securely.
You confirm that you hold the rights and licences necessary to upload each scene and to have it processed by a third party. Satellite imagery is usually licensed rather than owned outright, and checking that your licence permits this is your responsibility, not ours.
5. Your results
Enhanced outputs are yours to use. On the free tier, PNG and JPG previews carry a Clarsat watermark; GeoTIFF output is delivered without one so that your measurements are unaffected. Do not remove, obscure, or crop out the watermark from the preview formats, and do not present watermarked free-tier output as an unmarked commercial deliverable. Watermark-free previews are available under a partnership plan.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not upload imagery you are not permitted to share with us.
- Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
- Do not attempt to extract, reconstruct, reverse engineer, or retrain against our models, and do not use the outputs to train a competing enhancement model.
- Do not resell or sublicense access to the service without a written agreement with us.
- Do not automate against the free tier, evade its quotas, or create multiple accounts to obtain more allowance than one account provides.
7. Free tier limits
The free tier carries a per-account allowance and a cap on the region of interest you may submit. Both are shown in the service and may change as we tune capacity. Unused allowance does not carry over.
8. What the output is, and is not
Clarsat estimates detail that conventional resampling loses. It does not change the ground sampling distance of your sensor, and it does not add information that the sensor never captured. Outputs are model estimates and may contain artefacts. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it, and do not use the outputs as the sole basis for a safety-critical, legal, or life-critical decision.
9. Availability and warranties
The free tier is provided as-is, without warranty of availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, suspend, or withdraw it at any time. Service commitments, where they exist, are set out in a signed partnership agreement.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data arising from use of the free tier. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that threatens the security or availability of the service. You may close your account at any time by writing to us.
12. Changes
If these terms change materially we will raise the version number shown at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.
